My friend had her thirtieth birthday party at a restaurant around the corner from my house. I had heard about this restaurant before as it is quite famous throughout the city of Manchester for having a Singing Waiter. Not only does it have a Singing Waiter but, during your meal there, microphones are passed from table to table for all of the customers to take part in the singing as well. I was full of anticipation about the place and, when we arrived, the place was absolutely packed to the rafters. It immediately looked as though it was going to be a really good night and, sure enough, before too long the Singing Waiter came out. He began by singing real classics such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra and it was not long at all before we all got involved. It was such good fun and, as I had never done karaoke before or sung in public, it was a real experience for me. As the night went on and more drinks were consumed around the restaurant, the quality of the singing degenerated somewhat but people had the time of their lives. It was a really good night and my friend and everyone else who went had a fabulous time. I think the place will be de rigour with anyone who has a birthday in future.
